Frequently Asked Annie Questions:

  • All material combinations must be approved before you have a costume made. The following are the pieces to make your masterpiece. We have included a couple links to websites, but also suggest contacting Tamera to see what she has in stock!

Text to picture to Tamera at 813-927-1649 or email to 2010KQAR@gmail.com for final approvals.

    COLLECT THE FOLLOWING:

SHIRT: There are two options of white shirts, long sleeve, and short sleeve. Shirts MUST follow the pattern created by KQAR. Shirt fabric is included with shirts purchased from Lora - White KQAR long or short sleeve shirts MUST be worn under the Bolero Coat except for St. Patty’s Parade.

JACKET: Must be handmade Dupioni only, which can be found HERE. Bright Caribbean solid color of your choice (no black or patterned silk).

JACKET LINER: The inside cotton fabric liner can be a pattern, print, stripe or contrasting solid. But we recommend a bold, fun pattern that expresses YOU! Lots of ideas can be found HERE.

JACKET TRIM: Trims & lip cording are to enhance your coat, which helps personalize your costume!

CORSET LACE: Must be a decorative lace or of lace style and lined. Appliqués are acceptable if they keep with decorative lace design. Waist corset fabric cuts are 1⁄2-yard decorative lace, and 1/2 - 1 yard of lining (full beaded fabrics are used on just the front to minimize bulk under your jacket.

SKIRT: Bright colorful fun fabrics of your choice (but no velvet) make the bustle style skirt. If you choose a solid, you might want to add appliqués or left over lace from the coat. Trims, bling, and buttons are a great addition to the skirt. Dance/Boy Shorts that have a minimum 2-inch inseam are mandatory. Please do not show up in lingerie or Victoria Secret style shorts. No exceptions – you will not be permitted to attend the parade! Skirt fabric cuts need to be 2.5 yards.

The Board keeps a master binder of all costumes submitted, so that we can make sure your costume is UNIQUE and won’t be matching someone else on the parade route.

Once you have approval make sure you communicate with Lora when you can drop it all off.

    Lora’s cell # is 727-768-3553.

Once your costume is complete, time to add the finishing touches!

HEADWEAR: is permitted and is optional. This includes hats, head bands, and head scarfs. Headwear CAN NOT BE BLACK. Additionally, If you choose to wear a hat, it MUST be made from STRAW BUT CAN NOT BE COWBOY STYLE. Feel free to get creative- add trim, feathers, bling etc.

The only exception to these requirements is the St. Patty’s parade in which you are permitted to wear headwear of your choice– anything goes, even BLACK!

TIGHTS: are required under your skirt. Fishnet, textured, or solid tights (no black) to compliment your costume

look great and really pull the costume together. You can find great colorful options HERE or nude fishnets are available on Amazon too!

No exceptions – you will not be permitted to attend the parade if you do not have tights and boy shorts on!

BOOTS: This is another accessory that gives you the opportunity to personalize your costume. Boots can be any heel height; the shaft of the boot must be at least 10 inches high. Fun colorful cowboy style boots are great.

Remember, NO BLACK, HEAVY SUEDE LEATHER, ANKLE BOOTS, BOOTIES, OR UGGS. Stay away from traditional pirate or dancer boots - comfort is key! Where them a couple times before the big day.

  • IMPORTANT: All fabrics and costumes must be approved by a Board Member. This avoids seeing your costume on another Annie. We recognize that some costumes will have the same or similar fabrics used in different combinations, but we try to avoid this the best we can.

*For costume approval text a photo of your fabrics to: Tamera Circello (813.927.1649) or Jolie Migliara (813.482.2584)*

We have our own in-house seamstress. We appreciate your DIY projects, but this is the only approved method of creating your costume!
